  1. Hello Emacyn,
I am Alodia from room 8. I really like your acrostic poem, it was so creative. Your actually supposed to describe the southern lights in your acrostic poem, and also did you know that the acrostic poem is supposed to be lights, not light. If you would like to see my blog here it is odsalodiake.blogspot.com

  2. Hi Emacyn,

It's Leslie here, reading your blog from my home in Canada as a member of the Summer Learning Journey team. I'm so glad that you've chosen to be a part of the Summer Learning Journey program this year - good for you! I hope you're enjoying the activities - you're certainly working hard at them.

It's a real challenge to write a poem, isn't it? It's not the same as creating a story or a formal report - it requires a bit of imagination and a different kind of creativity. You made a good effort at this acrostic poem. The phrases, however, were to have something to do with the Southern Lights - I'm not sure that I see the connection with some of your lines such as "good googly google gang". Perhaps you were just having fun with words, which is great. But you can try the poem again, if you'd like full points, using words that would describe the Southern Lights. It's up to you!

Where I live in Canada we don't see the same stars in our night sky as you do, nor do
we see the Southern Lights of course. We have Northern Lights that shine in the winter nights, in the far north of our country. I've seen them twice and they're spectacular! Have you ever seen the Southern Lights in your night sky?

I hope you're getting lots of time in the outdoors during your summer holiday, as well as enjoying these blogging activities. I'll continue to read your postings!!

    Cheers,

    Leslie
