I'm Leslie and I'm a member of the Summer Learning Journey team. I'm reading your blog from my home in Canada where we're in the middle of our chilly winter. That might be hard for you to imagine as you enjoy a warm, summer day!
I'm so glad that you've chosen to participate in the Summer Learning Journey program this summer. Good on you!!
I see that you've learned some important things about air pollution. We have to change the way we do things as humans, don't we, if we want to be able to continue to live healthfully on the planet? It's a good thing that we've already made many helpful changes to how we heat our homes and cook our food. When my grandmother was a little girl many of the homes in her city used coal or wood for heating and cooking and those produced a lot of smoke. This smoke collected above the city and created smog, making it difficult for people to breathe. Now we know that coal and wood smoke are damaging so we have to find other sources of energy. And we are - there are wind turbines generating energy, geo-thermal systems etc.
Are you interested in studying science and being an inventor? One day you might be one of the people who creates a new way of meeting our energy needs!
Meanwhile, keep up your good work on this program and I'll continue to enjoy reading your blog!
